She is the recipient of a\u00a0<strong>Diamonstein-Spielvogel Fellowship\u00a0<\/strong>at the New York Public Library, a Cafe Royal Foundation Literature Grant\u00a0and a\u00a0<strong>Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sangu served as the Assistant Editor of\u00a0<em>Satya<\/em>\u00a0magazine\u00a0and is the editor of\u00a0<em>The Long View<\/em>, a special anniversary edition of\u00a0<em>Satya<\/em>. She considers herself to be a plant eating primate who has been humbled to be in the presence of great apes. She has volunteered at primate rescue and rehabilitation sanctuaries in the U.S. and in Africa. \u00a0Sangu served as an Associate \u00a0for the environmental action tank\u00a0Brighter Green, focused on sustainability, equity and rights.
